Round 3 Winter Series 2010 this Sunday
The weather was once again fine. Track conditions were great with a smaller but enthusastic number attending the race start at 10:00am. Cadets were still well represented with their own 9:30 am race on a separate track.

What a great turn out for our first round. The weather held out with over 75 racers turning up on a long weekend to battle for series points.
Cadets started out at 9:30 am on a separate track designed to thrill on sweet single track without the hills. We had about 7 kids aging from 8 to 12.
A big thanks to our series sponsor Bearbikes and supporting sponsors Pinnacle Cycles and Torq for providing product to the winners of Grades A, B, C, D, U17 and U15.
Open the attached file to see the race results:
Note: U17 and U15 results will be fixed but they are correct except first place in U15.

Dirtrider members are encouraged to attend the AGM to:
The AGM will be held after the fourth race of the winter series on the 5th September 2010. A BBQ will be held to encourage participation.
Note: You will not be forced to join the committee if you turn up.
Dirriders have started a tradition of offering a sponsorship to recognise our life members that are no longer actively racing and do not require a club membership. Their membership is offered to a young rider that has participated in club events and is seen by the committee as an ambassador to the club and the sport in general.
For 2010 the Life Members Sponsorship is to:
Sam Wilson
Dirt Riders were once again represented at the Red Centre Enduro by the following members:
The seven stage race over 5 consecutive days was a mammoth undertaking that transversed the beautiful Macdonald ranges and surrounding areas. This year riders had to cross creeks that contained water and look at a green landscape. This was a very different look to the previous year of red everywhere.
The above members loved the event so much that this is there fourth year visit to this icon event. Congratulations to them finishing in good condition.
For more information on the Red Centre Enduro click here.
Dirtriders have incorporated. After several years of discussion within the committee it has finally happened. Well done to the execuitve for achieving this.
Benefits will include protection of the club and exectuive from unlimited liability. The question of liability is asked alot these days and along with the affilation insurance policies the club and executive are protected against the unforeseen.
Members can know you are in safe hands.
Working bees and organisation help will be part of the race calender again for 2010.
Whilst the committee volunteer their time to bring a race program to you and make life more interesting by providing all those benefits of a club, help is still required by the general membership.
Dirtriders do not require it's members to be rostered on to help set up, take down or clear/build a track this work is still needed to be done.
As an incentive in helping we offer a free race entry for those that come along and help out. Watch the news section for announcements of working bees and or come early on race day to help set up.

Steve Clauscen President of the Geelong Mountain Club has stepped in to represent Victorian Mountain Bike Clubs. Victorian clubs have been in the past co-ordinating their events in a loose manner but in the last three years have had a champion to help co-ordinate events and activities. We thank Rohin Adams for the work he did in his role before Steve.
Presidents from the clubs met this month to discuss issues and plan events. The growing concern over decreasing numbers at traditional olympic style events raised some discussion. Ideas such as combining short and enduro events over a weekend were discussed.
